Opening in A Dance With Dragons, Godhood may become a more developed theme in The Winds of Winter
18 AGOT Bran III: In his unconscious state, before waking, Bran has a vision of "the whole realm and everyone in it." 162
85 ACOK 12 Theon I: Aeron Greyjoy speaks with the voice of The Drowned God, claiming a form of godlike status among men. He interprets the red comet as a summons to war. When Theon agrees, Aeron says "A man agrees with god as a raindrop with the storm." 179
127 ACOK 54 Jon VII: Bran comes to Jon in a dream. As his future self?
138 ACOK 65 Arya X: When Arya hears Bran and Rickon are dead, she thinks "If I had wings, I could fly back to Winterfell and see for myself. And if it were true, I'd just fly away, fly up past the moon and the shining stars, and see all the things in Old Nan's stories, dragons and sea monsters and the Titan of Braavos, and maybe I wouldn't ever fly back unless I wanted to." 895 Though a description of grief, the language is reminiscent of godhood.
149 ASOS 6 Davos I: With an opportunity to survive almost upon him, Davos experiences his conscience as the voice of the Mother. Though feverish and wracked with guilt he'd led his sons into the fire, Davos experiences his decision to live to kill Melisandre as a divine command, as if issued by the Mother herself.
272 ADWD 1 Prologue: When Varamyr dies failing to warg Thistle, he experiences a oneness with the wilderness, becoming the worm and the squirrel and the clouds and the trees all at once. This ends when his second life begins as part of One-Eye, witnessing more than controlling. It's almost as if he were the wolf and One-Eye the warg.
306 ADWD 35 Bran III: Bran's experience as the hert tree of Winterfell falls short of godhood, but he finds he is heard in small ways. his presence is what the north refers to as The Old Gods. Lord Brynden says he'll learn to go beyond the tree. While they cannot change the past, it does seem they can be heard, even by those whose actions will not change.
The Winds of Winter
The Forsaken: In his shade of the evening vision, Aeron sees Euron claiming to bethe new god who will be born from rthe last days. "Kneel, brother,' the Crow's Eye commanded. 'I am your king, I am your god. Worship me, and I will raise you up to be my priest.'" Euron continues to urge Aeron to pray to him, reminding him it was his rapes that made Aeron turn to god in the first place. It seems that, despite his love of sacrilege, Euron aspires to godhood.
