In his dream, he is falling, but a crow flies beside him saying he must learn to fly. Bran sees the Others coming, wakes up, and shivering, names his direwolf Summer.

A crow in Bran's dream guides him to ignore the memory of his fall and of Jamie Lannister. It's clear Bran does remember Jaime's role in his fall. What will happen if Bran tells Robb, who unsheathed his sword at Catelyn's suspicion it was Jaime.

Bran sees Winterfell "as the eagle sees it," Master Lewin looking through his telescope, Robb, Hodor, the great weirwood. As Bran's vision moves to Catelyn and Ser Rodrick aboard ship, it spans distances. He also sees Ned and his sisters in King's Landing and even dragons stirring in Essos.

In a chapter that reminds of the threat posed by the Others, Bran wakes and names his direwolf Summer. The question of how Bran can help is raised, but its suggestsed he will figure. Before he wakes, Bran sees all the realm and everybody in it in a kind of omniscent vision. He can tell his mother and Ser Rodrik are sailing towards a storm they can't see and his vision of the as yet unintroduced Mountain includes a helm empty of all but thick black blood, suggesting vision of the future.
