Though she only said they'd follow the comet to justify her decision to cross the Red Waste, the comet leads Dany to the rich and beautiful city of Qarth. As it would have been death to go any other direction, Dany claims the comet as the harbinger of her coming and feels her mission to Westeros to be divinely guided.
