Melisandre, Selyse and Ser Axell would have Stannis burn Edric Storm as a human sacrifice to R'hllor so as to claim the throne. Stannis rebuffs them, but is losing ground. Davos reads a letter from the Wall and intentionally withholds it from Stannis because it reminds him of Stannis's vision in the flames and he doesn't want to give more power to Melisandre.
