When the queen cancels tea, she tasks Joffrey to look after Sansa. It's a dream come true. But, when they encounter Arya practicing swordplay with sticks and Joffrey turns bully, Nymeria bites Joffrey to disarm him. Then, he hates Sansa.
Live Steel
In Arya's first chapter, when Joffrey was tasked to spar with Robb a second time he called for live steel so as to avoid being trounced again. Now, when he encounters Arya and Mycah, Joffrey shows he's still bitter about the beating Robb gave him. "I don't fight with wood like your brothers."
"That was where my father killed Rhaegar Targaryen, you know. He smashed in his chest...
Then my uncle Jaime killed old Aerys,
and then my father was king." 149
Did Grumkins Steal Her Real Sister?
Sansa tells Septa Mordane it's futile to remind Arya to wear her grey velvet, since she'll wear what she always does. Why must Arya be reminded to attend the queen's tea? Arya will ruin it, like she ruins everything splendid. That Joffrey hates Sansa after his humiliation at the ruby ford is fully Arya's fault.
Rescued, Like in a Song
Really, Joffrey just sent the Hound away out of fear of Lady, but Sansa liked the idea it was more of a rescue.
